July 18th, 1981

Born to a Druze family in Sweida. Father: mechanical engineer; Mother: nurse; elder sister; English teacher and mother to a wonderful boy; younger brother: groom in waiting(postponed due to ISIS attack. 2008 is my last visit home.

life in the UAE



Begin work in the UAE as an Insurance marketing manager.


The Syrian War begins.

2012 - 2017

Syrian embassy refuses to renew passport because of military service. I became jobless, homeless and stateless. October 2016, arrested. 13/12/16 Father passes away. January 2017: my passport temporary renewed for 2 years. October 2017: I am deported to Malaysia.



January 2018

My tourist visit expires which won't allow me to find a job. 28/02/2018 Turkish airlines don't allow me to board a flight to Ecuador. 07/08/2018 Cambodia sends me back to Malasia.

24/01/2019 My passport will expire again.

February 2nd, 2018

Turkish airlines don't allow me to board a flight to Ecuador.

August 7th, 2018

Cambodia sends me back to Malasia. On January 24th 2019 my passport will expire again.

UNHCR last contact with real solutions. Canadian volunteers give me hope.

March 3rd, 2018

Stuck in KLIA2 terminal since then.

April 26th, 2018

Submitted Canadians application although the process can take up to 20-24 months. My only hope is an online petition asking Canada's Minister of Immigration to grant me Asylum in Canada.



November 26th, 2018

Released from detention camp and boards flight to Taiwan and then to my final destination in Canada.
